In Memory: Etta James, 1938 – 2012

The music world lost an icon today. Etta James had a once-in-a-generation voice that made any song she sang recognizable. We’ll miss you, Etta.

Here’s the first track off the new Black Keys album, complete with sweet dance moves.

Review: The Black Keys “El Camino”

I’ve been excited for this album all year. My awesome boyfriend and I agree a The Black Keys album is perfect for long roadtrips: and this album doesn’t disappoint; although thankfully we’re not cruising in the sweet van on the album cover. That van is the actual vehicle that vocalist/guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer/producer Patrick Carney originally toured the country before their albums found success.

Ultimately, this album is exactly what you’d expect it to be. Following up “Brothers” isn’t easy, but the Keys managed once more to find interesting ways to blend thick 70s rock riffs with electronic undertones.
